Notes from December 6, 2012 Marshall Magnet Meeting and Potluck
Attendance: Approx. 20 people attended the meeting, including Mrs. Morton, Mr. Zwick, Mr. Jeffries of the Magnet teaching staff.
Website (gojmm.org): Dr. Thomas showed us the beginnings of the website he put together. One of the purposes of the website is to provide information about magnet activities, upcoming events and deadlines at the school, student clubs including meeting times and locations and whatever else is of interest to the Marshall Magnet community. We hope that the website will function as a key communications resource and maybe even include a weekly email summarizing upcoming events for the week.
The following people graciously volunteered for the Communications/Website Committee:

Mission Statement and Officer’s Duties: Drafts are posted on the website. Please send comments to Ms. Peacock at tpavoreal@gmail.com. The plan is to elect officers after the first of the year.

Meeting Structure: Magnet Meetings are organized by the Magnet Coordinator, Mrs. Morton, and held periodically; Friends of John Marshall Magnet (FOJMM) are organized by Dr. Thomas, at the moment, and the plan is to hold them on the second Thursday of every month. We agreed that it makes sense to combine the two meetings in the months that a Magnet meeting is scheduled. There was a suggestion that FOJMM meetings have a standard agenda:
