Officers are elected by a vote of members.

Officers serve for one year unless removed by the Board for cause.

President

The President is responsible for overseeing all activity, relationships and communications of the FOMM.

The President’s duties include:

  1. Establishing a regular meeting schedule for the Executive Board and making sure that Board members receive proper notice of meetings

  3. Establishing agenda for all meetings
  4. Chairing meetings of the Board and members and ensuring that meetings follow good procedures
  5. Maintaining regular contact with other officers and the chairs of all committees to ensure that all activity is on task, meets deadlines, and is transparent
  6. Ensuring that all fundraising activities adhere to approved procedures
  7. Reviewing financial reports prior to board meetings to ensure completeness and compliance
  8. Serving as liaison between FOMM and administration of John Marshall School and the Marshall Magnet
  9. Executing legal documents and/or co-signing all checks
  10. Serving as spokesperson for FOMM
  11. There will be other duties as well

 

President-Elect/Vice President

The President-Elect/Vice President agrees to assume the position of President in the subsequent year.

 

The President-Elect’s principal duty is to manage the process of funding requests and maintain a full slate of volunteers during the academic calendar year.

 

  1. Ensuring that all members know the proper procedure for requesting funding from FOMM
  2. Accepting funding requests and making sure all information is complete.
  3. Submitting all requests to the board for review.
  4. Notifying funding applicants of review results.
  5. Chairing board or other meetings when President is not available
  6. Other duties may be required or assigned.

 

Vice President of Fund Raising

The Vice President of Fund Raising duties include:

  1. Ensuring that all members know the proper procedure for fundraising
  2. Providing a structure for fundraising
  3. Developing strategies for raising funds
  4. Developing a protocol for soliciting funds
  5. Other duties may be required or assigned

 

Treasurer

The Treasurer is responsible for creating and maintaining accurate financial records and reports and for ensuring that all financial transactions are appropriate and adhere to all applicable regulations.

  1. Recording all donations and proceeds from fundraisers
  2. Working with Secretary to ensure that donors receive appropriate and timely acknowledgement
  3. Maintaining FOMM account, making deposits and issuing checks as directed by the board
  4. Reporting monthly, or as required, to the board, providing accurate reports on income and expense, as well as reports on the account
  5. Maintaining all necessary records for complete and accurate reporting to the Board
  6. Other duties may be required or assigned

 

Secretary

The Secretary is responsible for record keeping and communications.

  1. Notifying board members and members about scheduled and special meetings
  2. Recording attendance and minutes of all meetings
  3. Providing all necessary documents (handouts) for distribution at meetings
  4. Circulating minutes, as required, for review and approval
  5. Maintaining accurate copies of all of the organization’s documents, including Bylaws, program, operating and strategic plan as available
  6. Working with Treasurer to ensure that all donations are acknowledged in an appropriate and timely manner
